Job Description

  1. Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Assess clients’ emotional, psychological, academic, or career-related needs.
    • Conduct interviews, surveys, or use diagnostic tools to understand client challenges and objectives.
  2. Individual Counseling:
    • Offer one-on-one counseling sessions to help clients deal with personal, emotional, or psychological issues.
    • Provide support for issues like anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and relationship challenges.
  3. Group Counseling:
    • Facilitate group counseling sessions where clients with similar concerns can share experiences and receive mutual support.
  4. Crisis Intervention:
    • Provide immediate support during crises, such as trauma, self-harm, or substance abuse, and refer clients to additional services if necessary.
  5. Career and Academic Counseling (if applicable):
    • Assist clients with career planning, goal setting, and decision-making.
    • Help students with academic planning, college admissions, or vocational training.
  6. Developing Treatment Plans:
    • Collaborate with clients to develop actionable treatment or support plans that address their needs and goals.
    • Monitor progress and adjust the plan as necessary.
  7. Referrals and Collaboration:
    • Refer clients to specialized professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, social workers, medical professionals) for additional help if needed.
    • Collaborate with family members, teachers, or other professionals involved in the client’s care.
  8. Confidentiality and Ethical Practices:
    • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding clients’ personal information.
    • Adhere to professional ethical standards in counseling practices.
  9. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Keep accurate records of counseling sessions, assessments, and treatment plans.
    • Prepare progress reports as needed.
  10. Educational Workshops or Seminars:
    • Conduct workshops or informational sessions on relevant topics such as mental health, career development, or stress management.
