Job Description
1. Patient Care
- Assess patients’ health conditions and needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and symptoms.
- Assist with physical exams and diagnostic tests.
2. Health Education
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Provide guidance on disease prevention and healthy lifestyles.
3. Collaborating with Healthcare Teams
- Work closely with doctors, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate patients’ progress and any concerns with the medical team.
4. Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient health records.
- Document patient symptoms, treatment, medications, and progress.
5. Administering Treatments and Medications
- Provide prescribed treatments like injections, IV therapy, wound care, and catheter insertions.
- Ensure the safe administration of medication, including dosage monitoring and managing side effects.
6. Emotional Support
- Offer emotional support to patients and their families, especially during stressful or critical conditions.
- Help patients cope with illness, recovery, or end-of-life care.
7. Supervision and Training
- Guide and mentor junior nurses, nursing assistants, and students.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
8. Emergency Response
- Respond to emergencies, stabilize patients, and perform life-saving procedures such as CPR.
- Prepare and assist during medical procedures and surgeries.
